Devotional: The Original Day
It is one thing to seek the presence of God in our quiet time, but quite another to be aware of him in every detail of our lives. God does not just want us to seek him in our concerted time of communion with him, he desires that our whole lives would be a form of “spiritual worship” (Rom. 12:1) to him.
At the inception of human life, God gave Adam certain stewardships to the end that he would be fruitful and multiply, and exercise his dominion over the earth and its creatures. Like Adam, God gives each of us stewardships to fulfill, and opportunities to worship him with our whole lives. We are not robots. Rather, we are stewards whom God entrusts to, “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it” (Gen. 1:28).
