Paul & Silas
Paul and Silas
Acts 16:16-39
Hello Parents and Kiddos!
Please take a few moments to watch the story of Paul and Silas. I’ll be waiting here for you. 🙂
Welcome back! In today’s Bible story, we learned that worship brings us closer to God! Please take a few moments to review the story with your kids…
Activity:
Today we are going to make paper chains to represent the chains that Paul and Silas wore while they were in prison. You will need paper (any color), scissors, and a stapler. Cut the strips about 2 inches wide. First, take one strip of paper and staple the ends together to make a circle. Next, take another strip of paper and loop it through the circle and connect the ends. Continue until you have a chain the length you desire. The last step is to wear the chain around your wrists. Pretend to be like Paul and Silas and worship God and then break the chains!
In the bible, chains often represent sin. When you break the chains, imagine all of the yucky sins in your life breaking off!
Questions:
Why did Paul and Silas go to prison? They went to prison because people were mad that they loved God.
Were Paul and Silas afraid while they were in prison? No, they had peace because God was with them.
What happened when Paul and Silas worshipped God in prison? Their chains fell off and the prison doors were open!
Remember friends, worship brings us closer to God! 🙂
Blessings, Ms. Kate
