Devotional: Special Purposes Are Fulfilled Through Specific Work

Part of fulfilling the special purposes that God has for us is understanding that we have specific assignments and work, requiring specific focus. The purpose that you have requires assignments that differ from members of your family, your peers, your coworkers, and your friends. If we fail to pay attention to the specific work that God places before us, we’ll never live up to the call of the special purposes that he has. There is nothing generic for the child of God – our Father has called us to special purposes, fulfilled through specific work. 

Questions For Meditation

1. What are the different areas of our lives that our specific works emerge from? 
2. We are saved by grace, and grace alone. But what role does grace play in our lives as we fulfill the specific works God has for us?   
3. Why is order so important for the child of God? 
4. Think about your home, your schedule, your vocational life. In what ways can you activate God’s grace by establishing order in your life?
5. How can the order of our lives be a testimony to others/ 
6. Are there any places in your life that God started to work in that might require follow through? 
7. What mechanisms of follow through can you place in your life to ensure that you continue to live out God’s special purpose for your life?
