Devotional: Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday is the reminder of the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, where He was welcomed with joy and excitement by the crowds who shouted “Hosanna!” Yet, we also know that just a few days later, those same crowds would turn on Him and call for His crucifixion. In the midst of all this, we are called to surrender our lives to Jesus, just as He surrendered His life for us on the cross. As we wave our palm branches and sing praises to our King, let us remember that true surrender means giving up our own desires and plans, and allowing Jesus to guide our lives. May we follow in His footsteps, trusting in His love and grace to lead us through whatever trials we may face.
Questions for Meditation
- As we reflect on the events of Palm Sunday, what areas of our lives are we struggling to surrender to Jesus? What steps can we take to fully entrust these areas to Him?
- In what ways can we demonstrate our commitment to following Jesus, even when it may not be popular or easy? How can we remain faithful to Him, even when others around us may not understand or support our choices?
- How can we use the example of Jesus’ sacrifice and surrender on the cross to inspire us to live a life of service and love for others? What practical ways can we show compassion and kindness to those around us, even when it requires sacrifice on our part?
